Whenever I walk into Wildflower Organics, I immediately want to jump onto one of their beds and take a nap. Yes, I am a sleep deprived mom. But that’s not the reason behind this insane desire to curl up in a very public place to catch some extra beauty sleep. What pulls me in are the piles and piles of incredibly comfy looking sheets, duvets and blankets…. all perfectly arranged atop an organic mattress. I need to get a cup of coffee right now to wake up just thinking about it! Really, this shop is one dreamy place to be in Austin, especially if you are a mama who dreams of the day when you’ll be able to sleep again.

Wildflower is owned by Cori and Gunnar Hedman, a local couple who are striving to provide the best product available that’s also environmentally friendly (they’re doing a pretty fine job of it!!). It’s been called Austin’s hidden gem, with people coming from all over the U.S. to shop. Yep- we’ve got it, right here in Austin!! Cori hand picks many of the items that are sold in the store, including the WONDERFUL baby items. Being a mom herself, she makes it her priority to have organic clothing, bedding, toiletries, glass and BPA-free bottles, non-toxic toys, decorations, strollers… a little bit of everything that you need to start your baby’s life of in an organic, healthy environment. If you are more in the mood to shop for yourself or for your house instead of baby, they have linens, organic mattresses, high-end furniture, home decor, candles, clothing, jewelry and much more. Her buying skills are impeccable- it really shows the minute you walk in. They’ve been a local Austin business now for fifteen years!

During this hot summer season, stop in and have a look for yourself. They are kid-friendly- some of the employees have even been known to bring their own kids in to work! There are two Austin locations- one at Lamar and 9th Street and the other in Davenport Village off of 360. If you are having a sweat pants and way-too-large t-shirt kind of day and would rather just shop from home, they have most of their products listed on their website. AND, last but not least, they have been generous enough to giveaway a few baby items:
