Are You Ready?
Schools are getting ready to begin a new year and I don’t know if I’m ready yet. Of course, I am looking forward to some non-kid time (i’m soooo ready for that!!), but not sure if I’m ready for early mornings with cranky kids, the rush to get everything done on time and everyone out of the door before the tardy bells start ringing. I’m not sure if I’m even prepared to make lunches every night before bed….. it’s just one more chore to add to the long list of things to do already before bedtime. This year will also be the first for my little one and a half year old to start school. It’s more of a mother’s day out program- three days a week for four hours a day. So now I not only have one child to prepare, but two. Double the trouble!
I’m wondering how you prepare yourself and your kids for back to school- or in my daughter’s case- just starting school. Have you found any tried and true ways to transition into a nice school routine? Will you be trying out some new techniques this year to try to make things run a bit more smoothly than previous years? How about making that transition for a stay-at-home baby turning into a go-to-school-baby easier? Any suggestions you can share?

We pick out clothes for each day, the weekend before. That way, there are no early morning dramatics. I also pack lunches the night before.
