Austin City Limits Festival- For a full listing of all bands playing, stages and times, click here. Saturday is sold out already but there are still passes for Friday and Sunday. Heard that they have some awesome Austin food vendors set up this year, including Vespaio- my favorite!! Be sure to bring along your sunscreen! For Austin Kiddie Limits information, click here. East End Fourth Fridays- Listen to the Afro-groove hip hop music of Afrofreque while enjoying food and refreshments from Live Oak Brewery. Doors open at 6:00pm with FREE kids activities including a moon bounce, craft table and painting. FREE!! Admission from 6:00-8:00pm, $5.00 cover after 8:00pm. Family Music Meltdown2- Live music for kids, featuring Joe McDermott, Super Pal Universe, Laura Freeman, Telephone Company and Mr. Leebot. Only $5, infants are free!! Super cool, as Ruta Maya is always so family-friendly! Ruta Maya, 3601 S. Congress Ave.
3rd Annual Up the Chisholm Trail Cattle Drive and Chuck Wagon Cook-Off- Watch cowboys drive longhorn cattle along the San Gabriel River on Saturday, recognizing Georgetown’s location on the historic Chisholm Trail, as well as Williamson County’s rich cattle driving and raising heritage. Entertainment for visitors of all ages includes live western music, western craft demonstrations, trick roping show, children’s activities and ranch rodeo. Friday, 6:00-9:00pm. Saturday, 9:00am- Midnight. FREE! San Gabriel Park, 415 E. Morrow, Georgetown.
2008 Ultimate Kids Fishing Event- Kids, up to the age of 16, can bring their own gear, get their gear set up by local experts and then taught how to catch a fish! Free fun, games and prizes including fishing gear and more for the first 100 kids. Don’t miss this wonderful morning of fishing with your children. All skill levels welcome! Saturday, 8:30am- Noon. FREE!! Festival Beach at Lady Bird Lake.
Fall Fest- Food booths, game booths, arts & crafts, live entertainment, Mariachis, Tejano music, live and silent auctions, bingo, pony rides, petting zoo. Saturday, 11:00am-8:00pm. FREE!! St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf.
Kids’ Sewing Event- An area will be set up at the Round Rock and Austin Sew and Vac stores and at The Stitching Studio in NW Austin where children ages 8 and up (and even adults) will learn to thread a needle, sew on a button, and create a felt Noah’s Ark animal to take home with them. No registration necessary. FREE!! Saturday, 1:00-3:00pm.
FCC Moon Festival- Join Families with Children from China in celebrating the Autumn Moon Festival! Enjoy lantern crafts, moon cakes and a special interactive performance relating to a story about the moon. Sunday, 2:30-5:00pm. Children, $3.50. Adults, $5.50. 12 months and under are free. Austin Children’s Museum, 201 Colorado Street.
