Movies at Mueller- Come out and enjoy family-friendly movies at the newly completed outdoor amphitheater in Mueller’s Lake Park. Feel free to bring snacks and blankets, but please no chairs or other equipment that could block the views of other attendees. Curse of the Were-Rabbit is playing on Friday at 7:00pm with themed activities beginning at 6:00pm. FREE!! Mueller Lake Park Ampitheatre, 4550 Mueller Blvd.
Maker Faire- A two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It’s for creative, resourceful people of all ages and backgrounds who like to tinker and love to make things. So much to see, you will need 2 days to see it all! Come out and show your support to all of the creative Austin moms who will be proudly displaying and selling their handmade items! Saturday, 10:00am- 10:00pm. Sunday, 10:00am- 6:00pm. Tickets, $20 in advance at Whole Foods or Austin Children’s Museum or $25 at the door. $10 for ages 13-21, $5 for ages 4-12, under three free. Weekend passes are available. Travis County Expo Center.
Pumpkin Festival- Don’t miss this opportunity for some great pumpkin photos! There will be face painting, live music, hayrides, hay jump, animals to visit, antique tractors and many activities for the kids! Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, including pumpkin bread and Elgin sausage! Saturday, 10:00am- 5:30pm. Sunday, Noon- 5:30. $6 adults, $5 kids over the age of 3. A Lewis Carrol Halloween- Many characters from the writings of Lewis Carroll will inhabit Pioneer Farms. Hayrides will transport visitors to the world of Lewis Carroll to meet such characters as Alice in Wonderland, Jaberwocky, Hiawatha, and many more. Seating is limited so make your reservations early. Day Out With Thomas 2008- Discover Thomas! Classic Storybook Engine Chugs Into The Texas State Railroad. Enjoy a 30 minute ride with Thomas, Meet Sir Topham Hatt, Enjoy live music, build with Lego Duplo Bricks and much more. Friday, Saturday and Sunday every 45 minutes starting at 10:00am. Some slots are already sold out and it’s recommended that you purchase tickets in advance. Texas State Railroad, Park Road 76, US Hwy 84 West, Rusk.
Kyle Fair and Music Festival- BBQ Cookoff, Carnival with a kid zone, parade on Saturday at 10:00am, live music, arts, crafts and food vendors. FREE!! Friday, Saturday and Sunday- all day. Gregg-Clarke Park, 1300 W. Center St., Kyle.
2008 Pfamily Pfestival & EXPO: “Celebrating Our Community’s Cultures”- There will be merchant booths, entertainment from schools, churches and other local groups, helicopter displays, child ID, door prizes (must be 21 and over to enter), Fire Safety House, food and much more! FREE!! Saturday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Hill Country Bible Church, 303 E Pflugerville Parkway.
Engineering Saturday- Children and families can explore engineering first hand with activities presented in collaboration with students from UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering. Saturday, 10:00am- Noon. $4.50-$6.50 admisson, kids under one year free. Austin Children’s Museum, 201 Colorado St.
YMCA Pumpkin Fest- The whole family can enjoy Inflatables, Rides, Carnival Games, Prizes, Concessions, a Haunted House, Halloween Candy and more! You can also stroll through the Pumpkin Patch and purchase your Halloween Jack-O-Lantern for the big day. So, break in that Halloween costume early and in style at Pumpkin Fest! $10 per car. Saturday from 5:00-9:00pm. Twin Lakes Family YMCA, 204 E. Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park.
9th Annual Down Syndrome Buddy Walk- A one-mile walk and family fun festival in which anyone can participate without special training. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome. After the Buddy Walk, DSACT holds a family festival. Activities will include live musical performances by Joe McDermott, Monte Warden and Elvis, wagon rides, swimming, paddle boat rides, pony rides, kids games and entertainment, raffle and silent auction, sport mascots, community exhibitors, food and lots of fun!
