Get Roped In- Join world champion trick roper Kevin Fitzpatrick as he demonstrates some “tricks of the trade” of a cowboy and professional trick roper. Tommy Worrell of the Diamond W Cowboy Show will also lead a hands-on workshop on the art and science of lasso making. Saturday from 1:00-3:00pm. FREE with museum admission. Parent’s Afternoon Out- Can’t find a babysitter but still want to go to the movies? No problem… purchase a voucher online and drop your kids off at Body Business in The Village while watching a feature at the Alamo Drafthouse! Be sure to pick your kids up within 15 minutes of the movie ending. Vouchers are $10 per child. Saturday, 2:30-6:30pm. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on Anderson Lane.

2008 Greater Austin Walk for Autism- This family friendly event will include a 3-mile walk, entertainment and an autism resource fair. Autism service providers from around Central Texas will be participating. Baby Shower at Seton Medical Center- Come celebrate the completion of Seton Medical Center Austin’s new 124,000-square-foot, five-story expansion. The family-fun event offers helpful resources for expectant and new moms. Children’s activities, door prizes, food, seminars and product demonstrations. FREE!! Saturday, 9:00am-2:00pm. Wing Ding 5K- Bring the whole family to the park -run the race (1Kfor the kids), ride the train, jump in the bounce house and listen to music. There will be games, face painting, and loads of prizes and give aways. Please bring canned goods or non perishable food items to the run on race day to be donated to the Round Rock Serving center. $25. Saturday, 6:00am check-in, 8:00am 5K race, 9:00am 1K kids race. Sing-a-Thon- The Austin Lounge Lizards will join talented KidsActing actors in singing popular songs from Broadway shows! They’ll lead us in song but we’ll join in and pretend we’re Broadway stars! You can also have tons of fun in the “Improv Tent” run by comedy pros who will have you laughing uproariously. Or you can become a character in the costume/make-up area and have a great family photo taken. Lots of yummy food and great family entertainment for all ages! Sunday,2:00-5:00pm. $25. Edgar A. Smith Building Grand Opening- In celebration of the opening of the Blanton’s second building, the museum will offer an afternoon of live music, art activities, film screenings sponsored by the Austin Film Festival, architectural and gallery tours, and more! The Very Hungry Caterpillar- Retold on stage in black light, the story follows the adventures of a very tiny and very hungry caterpillar that progresses through an amazing variety of foods towards his metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly.
