Thursday’s Dish
I held a potluck dinner at my house over the weekend and there was one particular dish, other than the frozen Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese, that was a big hit. It was made by Jill and she was kind enough to share the recipe with us! It’s a recipe that was handed down to her from her mom- one that’s made every Thanksgiving. It’s mighty impressive looking, making one think that it would take a long time to prepare, when in fact, it’s fairly simple to pull together. Makes for an easy dish to whip up at the last minute to either serve or bring along for Thanksgiving dinner!
Fruit Salad
2 cans peach pie filling
2 cans mandarin oranges
2 cans pineapple tidbits
2 bags of frozen strawberries
2 bananas
cool whip
Big bowl!
Instructions:
First add peach pie filling. Then drain the oranges and the pineapples and add them. Then top with strawberries. Add the bananas right before serving the salad, either leave on top so it looks pretty or stir in the salad. My mom says to try to make it the salad the day before or morning of when you are going to serve it. She also says that the less stirring the better!
