WONDERDOG- From their website: When you are the new girl in town, you are the new girl in school. Things are not easy when you are the new girl in your class. And it sure isn’t easy when you and your mom are living in a new house for the first time without your dad. It sure is a good thing that stray pug showed up and has now come to the rescue! Lou Clark’s new play, WONDERDOG, will have everyone wondering if dogs really might have the power of super friendship if you rub their tummies. You just never know who might come to help you when you need them most! Best suited for kids in grades K-3. Seeing Special Things: Fifth Annual Student Art Exhibition- This is a 29-year old museum/school partnership between the Austin Museum of Art and the Austin Independent School District where students receive pre-visit classroom instruction, visit AMOA four times a year, and create art in response to the exhibitions on view. Saturday marks the opening reception for this special exhibit from 2:00-4:00pm. FREE!! Austin Museum of Art, 823 Congress Ave.

Trout Fishing in America- A live concert for kids will be on Saturday at 6:00pm ($10 tickets) with an adult show following at 8:30pm ($17 tickets).  Cactus Cafe, 24th and Guadalupe.

Tea Time For You Storytime- Celebrate Lewis Carroll’s birthday with a tea party. Saturday at 11:30am. FREE!! BooPeople, 6th and Lamar.

Crafts for Kids- This week’s craft is Friendship Flowers. Every Saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm for kids ages 3 and up. FREE!! Lakeshore Learning Store, 9828 Great Hills Trail.

Octavitas 2009- Come out to watch the or join in on the traditional dances and music performances of Bomba, Plena and Taino traditions by PRFDance’s Professional & Junior Company and Performing Arts Students as they close out their extended holiday season. FREE!! Sunday, 2:00-5:00pm. Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance & Cultural Center, 701 Tillery Street.

Sunday Morning Kids Show- Enjoy a performance by Jungle Jill and the Jaybirds- Earth Conscious music. FREE!! Tips appreciated for performers! Sunday, 10:30am. Ruta Maya Coffee House, 3601 S. Congress.
