Buddy Containers
If, at any given time, you take a look inside of my purse, you’ll find many of those little HEB Buddy Buck containers. We make several stops at the grocery store throughout the week, and because they give out those buddy bucks so willingly, the plastic shells add up quickly. A great question came in from Susan for some ideas on how to use these little plastic containers. Here’s what she writes:
I’m looking for some ideas for craft projects using those HEB buddy buck containers. I want to start using things that we have around the house that would normally go into the trash for crafts for the kids. I’d love some ideas, especially for these since we get so many of them with three kids. Does anyone know if they can be recycled if we can’t use all of them? Does HEB recycle them?

HEB recycles them. There is a bin next to the machines in the store. I was thinking of using the ones I have at home instead of buying more Easter eggs.

I recycle most of mine now but my boys like to play with them. We use them to store change and tiny toys. Once I made lipbalm and poured it in one. It worked great!
They are also good with uncooked rice or birdseed for tiny instruments.

SOME HEB stores recycle. The one I go to on a regular basis does, but when I tried to give them some at another location, they looked at me like I had just licked their face. They are great for little craft supply holders,i.e. beads, clips, scrapbooking dodads.

Thank you for the ideas ladies. I thought about using them instead of buying plastic easter eggs. And the instrument idea is a great one!
