Book Box Storytime- Each Saturday, a guest will sing songs, read stories and then wrap it all up with a fun arts & craft project! FREE!! Saturday at Noon. Beth’s Book Box, 15803 Windermere Dr., Pflugerville.
Bright Leaf Monthly Hike- Be sure to dress for the weather, bring plenty of water and sunscreen for this 4-mile hike that lasts about 2 hours. FREE!! Saturday and Sunday at 9:00am. Meet at 2222 and Creek Mountain Road.
Cirque Du Pawrade- A family and canine friendly day of fun that begins with a parade. There will be circus rings of activities including face painting, an inflatable and crafts. There will be tips on training your canine family member, dog races and more! FREE!! Saturday, 11:30am- 4:00pm. Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, 1401 Medical Parkway, Cedar Park.
Lowe’s Build and Grow- A hands-on clinic that is for kids of all ages. This month’s project will be to build a drum! FREE!! Register online to reserve a spot. Saturday, 10:00- 11:00am. All participating Lowe’s locations.
Crafts for Kids- Brings the kids, ages 3 and up, to make a Pencil Holder Pal! FREE!! Saturday between 11:00am- 3:00pm. Lakeshore Learning Store, 9828 Great Hills Trail.
Curiosity Day Celebration- Come out to celebrate the birthday of Hans Grey, the author of Curious George. There will be arts and crafts, stories, cupcakes and a live visit from Curious George himself! FREE!! Saturday, 11:30am. Book People, 603 N. Lamar Blvd.
Peter and the Wolf- Ballet Austin takes children of all ages through an interactive balletic version of this Russian fairy tale. Join as the youngest members of our audience help Peter and his animal friends triumph over the danger in his own back yard. Tickets, $14. Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 and 4:00pm. Second Saturdays are for Families- Be inspired by Chuck Close’s use of photography and patterns in A Couple of Ways of Doing Something. Capture a pattern in the world around you in a photograph , then head over to the community room to create your very own painted pattern. Explore the black and white patterns in a world of color! $7 Family, $5 member families. Saturday, Noon- 4:00pm. Austin Museum of Art, 823 Congress Ave.
University of Texas Powwow- Celebrate American Indian dance, culture, and food at its annual signature fall event. FREE!! Open to the public. There will also be a cakewalk and a raffle. Saturday, 11:00am- 7:00pm. UT Rec and Sports Center, San Jacinto and 20th.
Come Dance! 2009- The event is open to the public and welcomes all ages to celebrate the second birthday of the 34,000 sq ft downtown facility. Participants will have a chance to choose amongst a broad selection of FREE classes (ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, hula, and more) and much more! Sunday, 2:00- 6:00pm. Ages 3 and up. Sunday Morning Kid’s Show- This week’s show will feature a sample of Music Together’s songs that will be led by Michael Shay. FREE!! Sunday, 10:30am. Ruta Maya Coffee Shop, 3601 South Congress.
