Movies in Your Park- Bring the family, snacks and a blanket to watch Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian at the outdoor amphitheatre for FREE!! Leave the chairs at home though so you don’t block the view of other movie watchers! Movies will begin at sunset. Free street parking along Simond Avenue and Mueller Boulevard. YMCA Haunted House- There is a special family-friendly viewing from 6:00pm-7:00pm for the younger kids. Sure to be a spooktacular time and to scare the pants off of your older kids! Friday and Saturday from 7:00- 11:00pm. $8 per person. YMCA Camp Twin Lakes, 204 E. Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park.
Second Saturdays are for Families: Crazy Cool Color- Check out the amazingly colorful abstract works of art in Collection Selections, a showcase of AMOA’s permanent collection. Then, create your own wild work of art of by experimenting with paper chromatography! At 1:00pm, join Brandy Arena of Bea Love Yoga for a family yoga class inspired by the artistic collaborations in the exhibition. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one! Saturday, Noon- 4:00pm. Pumpkin Festival- Live music, face and pumpkin painting, scenic hayrides, rubber duck races, carnival area, photo area and more! Pumpkins and food for sale. Saturday from 10:00am- 5:30pm and Sunday, Noon- 5:30pm. Elgin Christmas Tree Farm, 120 Nature’s Way, Elgin.
Crafts for Kids- Brings the kids, ages 3 and up, to make a Pumpkin Puppet just in time for Halloween! FREE!! Saturday between 11:00am- 3:00pm. Lakeshore Learning Store, 9828 Great Hills Trail.
2009 Pfamily Pfestival and Expo- Featuring a kite flying contest, car club displays, children’s activities and demonstrations, food concessions, merchant booths and more. FREE!! Saturday, 9:00am- 3:00pm. Hill Country Bible Church, 303 E. Pflugerville Pkwy.
The Great Pumpkin Hunt-
Lowe’s Build and Grow- A hands-on clinic that is for kids of all ages. This month’s project will be to build a ball toss game. FREE!! Register online to reserve a spot. Saturday, 10:00- 11:00am. All participating Lowe’s locations.
Hopefest ’09- A family resource fair with food, fun for kids, music and information about health, education, employment and more. Flu shots and immunizations available. FREE!! Saturday, 9:30am- 3:00pm. Reagan High School, 7104 Berkman Dr.
Charlotte’s Web- Theatrework’s USA spins the timeless tale of Charlotte’s Web. Saturday, 11:00am and 1:00pm. Tickets, $12 adults; $9 children. One World Theatre, 7701 Bee Caves Rd.
A Day in Camelot- This walking tour is appropriate for all ages. Visitors will stroll the pathways of Pioneer Farms and interact with King Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot, and others from the Camelot/King Arthur stories. There will be hands on activities appropriate for all ages as well. Expect to see dancing and jousting just to name a couple of activities. Saturday, Noon- 6:00pm. Peter and the Wolf- The duck, the bird and the cat join Peter and his grandfather to outsmart a wily wolf in this familiar cautionary tale, set to music both classical and contemporary. Adapted by Allison Gregory, this show gives a fresh new look to a traditional Russian folktale. Sunday, 2:00 and 4:30pm. Doors open one hour prior to show. Tickets, $19.00.
