Letters To Santa
Letter writing to Santa has not yet been done in my household. I tend to wait until Thanksgiving is over to put my full attention on Christmas. If you are also gearing up your kids to write their annual letter to Santa, here’s a tip: There’s no need to put a stamp on the envelope. We took a little tour of our post office and the postal employee informed us of this fact. Just saved you 44 cents! You can read here about where the letters will be going this year.
Macy’s is also collecting letters to Santa at all of their stores. For each letter to Santa that they receive, they will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish Foundation. The letter needs to be addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole and these do need a stamp. You can read more here.
Of course, Santa loves the thousands of letters that come pouring into the North Pole every year from children all over, but wouldn’t your kids like to get a response from him at some point? Especially as they grow a little older and are realizing that perhaps Santa might not be real. Maybe a response from the jolly old fellow would get them believing for one more year! If you would like a letter sent to your child from Santa with a postmark from the North Pole, here’s what you can do:
Write a letter yourself that is from Santa, put it in a sealed envelope with the return address of Santa, North Pole. Put a stamp on that envelope, place that letter into a first-class or priority envelope with the appropriate postage and mail it to: North Pole Christmas Cancellation, Postmaster, 4141 Post Mark Drive, Anchorage, AK 99530-9998. All requests must be received by December 15, 2009.
Have I missed anything? Do you know of any other locations who are accepting letters to Santa for a good cause? Do your kids receive a letter from Santa every year? If so, where does it come from?
