New Year’s Eve
By the time New Year’s Eve rolls around, I’ve had my fill of holiday cheer. This year is no different from the past; all I really want to do on New Year’s Eve is curl up on the couch with a good book or movie to ring in the New Year. In peace and quiet. And, of course, a bottle of champagne generally accompanies me on the couch as well! After a month of what seems like non-stop going, I am ready to be done. One of these years, I’m going to have to insist on not doing too much prior to the New Year celebration to ensure that I have enough energy reserves to get me through a night of partying. My how motherhood can wear a woman out.
If you find yourself energized and wanting to get out of the house for a New Year’s Eve party tonight, with kids in tow, you may want to check out First Night Austin. It’s a family-friendly, alcohol-free event that begins at 4:00pm and goes until midnight. With live music and entertainment for both the big and the little kids, it should prove to be a very fun night to spend with the family! The event is FREE and there’s even a waterlight parade and fireworks. If that’s not enough to pique your interest, check out all of the other fun stuff happening on the First Night Austin website.
What are your plans for New Year’s Eve? Will you be asleep by 9:00pm or are you planning on partying like you’re not a worn out mama? If the latter is the case, you have my full admiration.
Wishing you and yours a very happy, safe and prosperous New Year with many nights of good sleep and happy kids!!
