Pachanga Latino Music Festival- Friday, May 10 doors open at 6:30pm and Saturday, May 11 doors open at noon. Ninos Rock takes place from noon- 4pm. Pachanga is a Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival dedicated to showcasing the vibrant blend of Latino-created music and art and the impact it has on American culture today. Bands performing include Vallejo, Intocable, Los Lobos, Grupo Fantasma and many more. Tickets: starting at $39 for advance purchase. Kids 12 and under are free with an adult. Faerie Landscaping Workshop- Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9-11am and Noon- 2pm. Create adorable faerie saucer gardens using live plants and natural materials to take home and invite a faerie into your backyard. Working with gardeners and horticulture staff, learn what is needed to keep your miniature landscape alive. $5 (plus kit costs).  Registration required. Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid- Friday, May 10 at 7pm and Saturday, May 11 at 11:00am and 2:00pm. This original retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic combines modern technologies and the ancient art of storytelling to put a new twist on this well-loved fairy tale.  Using  projections, fabric and a whole lot of theatre magic, the ocean comes to life (along with your imagination) in this one-person journey of love, sacrifice and courage.  For ages 6 and up. A Mother’s Day Celebration- Saturday, May 11,  from 10am- 2pm. Students from the Round Rock Independent School District will be leading the musical performances, including the Stony Point High School mariachi group who will be singing “Las Mañanitas,” the Gattis Elementary School choir, and the Hernandez and Hopewell Middle School mariachi groups. Texas State mariachi group, the Round Rock Ballet Folklorico, and the Round Rock Symphony are also scheduled to perform. Other activities include: arts and crafts for kids, a chance to take pictures with mom, and free carnations for mothers. FREE!! Centennial Plaza, 301 W. Bagdad, Round Rock.

Hill Country Galleria Saturday Night Concert Series- Saturday, May 11 from 7:00- 9:00pm. Listen to FREE live music by Susan Arbuckle. Hill Country Galleria, 12700 Hill Country Blvd.

Reunion Ranch Family Fun Day- Saturday, May 11, gates open at 3:30pm. Grab your lawn chairs and head out for a day of family fun with live music (Two Tons of Steel is headlining), games, a zip line, playscape, swimming pool, bingo with prizes and more! Plus Meets Minus- Saturday, May 11 at  2:00 and 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. (followed by a “PAY WHAT YOU LIKE” party  where you get to mix and mingle with the performers! Addy Plus loves to put things together, collecting all sorts of things into larger and larger groups. Addy finds great joy in adding. Minus Takeaway likes nothing more than taking things apart. When these two characters meet, there is considerable confusion and conflict! PLUS MEETS MINUS is a fun, colorful exploration of two very different personalities and the results are many discoveries about both human nature and math. Designed for very young learners, PLUS MEETS MINUS will be best enjoyed by children ages 4 – 7, but is entertaining for audiences of all ages. Wake Up Your Weird- Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 at 11:00am and 2:30pm. Join Emmy Award nominated “Sesame Street” performer Leslie Carrara-Rudolph for a whimsical live theatrical experience. Told in a two-act show and tell, this family-friendly show addresses bullying and self esteem issues while giving children the tools to navigate life creatively. Wake Up Your Weird! is an energetic, hilarious show full of original songs, video shorts, puppetry, pink monkeys, and a Sasquatch followed by an interactive joy ride where you get to move, sing, and laugh your way through more of Leslieʼs stories and songs. Austin Federation of Musician Music Series- Sunday, May 12 from 6:00- 8:30pm. The Museum is once again bringing live music to the Lone Star Plaza. In collaboration with the Austin Federation of Musicians, this FREE Spring concert series will feature some of Austin’s finest musical acts. This week’s performers are Mady Kaye Featuring Mitch Watkins and Albert and Gage. Doors at 5:30pm. Bring chairs and picnics, no alcohol. Bullock Museum, 1800 N. Congress.

Austin Symphonic Band’s Mother’s Day at the Capitol- Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 7:00- 8:00pm.What better way to close out a great day with Mom than by taking her to a free concert at the Texas State Capitol in her honor? The band will perform well-known tunes, including marches and musical numbers, that you and your Mom are sure to enjoy! Mother’s Day at UMLAUF- Sunday, May 12 from noon- 4pm. Bring your Mother or Child to the UMLAUF to spend the day amongst our family sculptures. FREE and Open to the Public. Umlauf Sculpture Gardens, 605 Robert E. Lee.

Victorian High Tea- Sunday, May 12, seatings from noon- 4:30pm. Bring mom out to enjoy tea in a restored 1859 manor house. Cost is just $10 per person. Mothers get in for free! Cost: $8 for adults, and $6 for children. Children 2 and under are free.Admission to Pioneer Farms museum sites is included. A great way to spend Sunday with your family! Friday Night Storytime- Enjoy a FREE storytime with the kids on Fridays at 7:30pm. Barnes and Noble, La Frontera Village, 2701 Parker Road Bldg A Suite 700, Round Rock.

Central Market North Lamar– Live music and dancing, oh my!  This is a great spot for parents to enjoy music while letting their kids burn some energy on the playground.  There are also ducks to feed in the nearby pond.  Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30- 9:00pm. Central Market, North Lamar Blvd.

Craft Time for Kids- Bring the kids to get crafty. The crafts change weekly and usually are themed for particular holidays or seasons. FREE!! Saturday, 11:00am- 3:00pm. Lakeshore Learning Center, 9828 Great Hills Trail.

Food-Free Family Storytime-The Round Rock Public Library presents Food-Free Family Storytime, a reading activity that welcomes families with children of all ages to a fun environment that’s safe for individuals affected by food allergies.This interactive program includes a variety of activities such as books, fingerplays, music, movies, and puppets. FREE!! What’s the Story Steve?– Move Your Tale and ColdTowne Theater collaborate to present this fully improvised theatrical journey through a story of the audience’s making. Featuring Steve the improvising poodle, a portion of the show follows Steve through an original tale. Pay what you wish. Appropriate for audiences of all ages. A return to MYT’s classic event structure, kids will join us on the stage for the entire event, providing sound effects, characters and settings for for every story. Flying Theater Machine: GryffinPuffleClawsin- Sundays at the Hideout, Flying Theater Machine presents kid-oriented improv right here in Austin. The audience will help us with suggestions and sound effects, and a few lucky kids will even get to join us on stage. Sunday, 2:00pm.Tickets: $8. The Hideout Theater, 617 Congress Ave.
