Many thanks to the Bloggin’ Mamas who came out to join us for the 5th Annual Bloggin’ Mama Social this past Saturday, April 5th, at Alta’s Cafe.

We had an amazing panel of speakers who shared tips on how to monetize your blog. Wendi Aarons of WendiAarons.com, Hilah Johnson of Hilah Cooking and Shellie Deringer from SavingwithShellie.com, talked about many different ways to use your site as a revenue source. Although an entire blogging conference could be devoted to this topic, the panelists talked about being authentic, how to decide whether to partner with a brand and how much time they devote to their website and social media channels. All attendees received a copy of each blogger’s top tips on monetization. The panel was moderated by LiveMom’s own Nicole Basham.

In addition to the speakers, there was wonderful food and wine provided by Alta’s Cafe and desserts provided by Alta’s Cafe, Baked by Amy’s and People’s Pharmacy. No Goldfish nor Cheerios in sight!

Each mama got to take home swag bags that were stuffed to the brim with items donated by local businesses and national brands. Many thanks to our sponsor, MetroMoms Austin, for providing the reusable bags.

Did I mention the door prizes? Yes, there were door prizes as well! Our Bloggin’ Mamas were especially spoiled this time around with a one night stay and breakfast for two at the Omni Downtown, free dance classes at Ballet Austin’s Butler Dance School, gift certificates to Dream Dinners, a juice cleanse from Daily Greens, shirts from Wee Rascals and Famigo, gift cards to McDonalds, the ArtGarage, and our very own Austin Bloggin’ Mama Blythe Jewel donated 10 copies of her newly-released book of poems, Something Smells Like Pee!

AdvertisementSo, we had an expert panel, amazing food and drink, swag and prizes, but then of course, our favorite part has to be meeting new bloggers and reconnecting with our old blogger friends!  We met bloggers who just moved to Austin, bloggers who are new to not only blogging but also to being a mom, and many who were looking for some inspiration and support. We closed the place down, and we could have kept talking for a while longer.

This event would not be possible without the support of our local sponsors: KidVenture, Alta’s Cafe, Orange Wall Collective and MetroMoms Austin. Many thanks to the wonderful Amanda Evans and Joel Lang for sharing expert tips on design and SEO in the free workshops that they held during the event.
