Amazing Minds

Amazing Minds is run by Suzi Menfi, a former 2nd grade teacher and mom of 3 that wanted to educate and inspire children outside of the classroom. Her one week camps teach about engaging topics while weaving in academic skills in interactive, FUN experiences. The Art Garage Summer Art Camps

With 30 different camps to choose from, you are sure to find something perfect for your budding artist. Younger kids can choose from fun themes like Frozen, Candyland and Under the Sea. In each of these camps, the campers will get to create 8-12 projects, including building with clay, painting pottery, tie-dying, canvas painting, drawing and crafts. Older elementary-aged kids can look forward to themes like Go Green, Austin Hipster Art and Fiesta. In these camps we focus a little more fine art and usually include an art history component. Brazil 2014 World Cup Soccer Camp hosted by Lonestar Soccer Club

Children will get a leg up with the professional soccer coaches at Lonestar Premier Soccer Camps. The camps focus on developing a player’s individual technique and inspire a love of the game in a fun, safe and challenging environment. A typical day will include skill-targeted drills, practice games, speed and agility training, three-on-three scrimmages and a World Cup tournament.

Players are taught by experienced and nationally licensed staffers who have an average of 15 years of professional soccer coaching experience. The coaches are from Spain, Argentina, England, Brazil, Scotland, Ireland, the U.S. and Canada.

Typically, the student-teacher ratio is 12:1 or better. Half- and full-day camps are available to U5-U12 boys and girls of all skill levels at the eight Lonestar Soccer Club locations, from South Austin to Williamson County.

Mad Sciences’ mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing them with fun, hands-on and educational activities that instill a clearer of what science is really about and how it affects the world around them. There are nine completely different science themed camp topics for the summer of 2014. With this many themes to choose from, there is a scientifically fun time awaiting everyone including the smallest scientist, the aspiring rocket scientists, robot engineers and even the undecided scientist.

Children become junior Mad Scientists for the week, with the opportunity to experience a variety of science adventures. Campers will be able to touch, hear, see, smell, and taste what science is really all about. Inquiry-based learning techniques that involve the campers in individual, small group and large group activities allow both the youngest of campers and the most advanced campers to enjoy our learning environment.

Each camp has two instructors to ensure there is always a helping hand nearby. Instructors are specially trained in Made Science programming and have experience working with elementary children. Every camp location has a CPR and first aid certified instructor. All Mad Science instructors have criminal background checks.

Late pickup is provided from 3:00 -6:00 p.m. for the 6-hour per day camps for an additional fee. Early drop-off is included for the 6-hour per day camps as early as 8:00 a.m. All supplies are provided for campers, including snacks. Full day campers do bring their lunches. Our Camps are a condensed version of our performance program: we use Rock ‘n Roll to teach guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys, culminating in a live show at an Austin venue!

SoccerPlex All Sport Camp

Full day and half day camps are available for kids ages 5-13 years old. Kids will learn about and play a variety of sports including – soccer, flag football, basketball, and dodge ball. Full day camp will run from 9am – 3pm, or half day camp will run from 1pm – 4pm.

Austin Sunshine Camp

The camp program serves economically disadvantaged youth and offers activities such as swimming in Lake Travis, fishing, canoeing, handicrafts, nature study, hikes, games, and high ropes course with a variety of elements including a climbing wall and zip line.
