2015 Austin Bucket List: Year In Review

For the second year, a group of us mamas made our lists and checked them twice. No, not lists of gifts – lists of things we wanted to do with (and without) kids in and around Austin. Our goal was to encourage our readers to get out exploring Austin by crossing one item off our lists each month. Sounds doable, right?

Three mamas agreed to participate the past two years and share about their experiences: the good, the not-so-good and the…well, not everything is unicorns and rainbows, right? You can read the 2014 wrap-up post here.

We had some great new experiences in 2015, thanks to another set of bucket list items. Here is what we crossed off the list this year, in no particular order:

Tour the Johnson Ranch
Go to the top of the UT Tower
 Tour the Capitol building
Eat tacos for all three meals at different places in one day
 East side bar crawl
Rent a pontoon boat on Lake Travis
 Eat at Franklin Barbecue
Go to a Texas Stars hockey game
Take a walk on the Boardwalk
Advertisement Visit Colorado Bend State Park to see fall color
 Go to a dude ranch
 Go to Top Golf
 Indoor skydiving at iFly
 S’mores at Halcyon
Visit the Bee Cave Sculpture Park
Go to a Round Rock Express baseball game
 Try footgolf
Volunteer with at least two Austin organizations, using Little Helping Hands to find opportunities
 Mt. Playmore
 Cathedral of Junk
 Springwoods Park
 Mexican American Cultural Center
 Laguna Gloria
 Lick Ice Creams

Luckily, there is still plenty more to do in Austin in years to come! What’s on your Austin Bucket list?
