When January comes around, the world seems split into two camps: the make-resolutions types and the no-way-would-I-ever peeps. While we won’t judge, either way, what seems to work best for us is the idea of a bucket list. It’s not saying you need to lose weight, but chances are that getting off the couch does everyone some good. It doesn’t add to your already-overflowing plate, nor does it add something to your weekly calendar. What it does do is switch things up, give you a break from the normal routine and remind you that experiences are more fulfilling than any material goods.
At the beginning of 2014, Catherine had the idea to make an Austin Bucket List. These items could be with kids or without, and the expectation was that one item could be crossed off each month. Day trips count, even if they aren’t technically in Austin. It’s fine if the list has more than 12 items, since sometimes it’s easier to have more things to choose from. Twelve items, twelve months. Doesn’t that sound doable?
Three mamas agreed to participate and share about their experiences: the good, the not-so-good and the..well, not everything is unicorns and rainbows, right? You can read the 2014 wrap-up post here.
Now that 2014 is in the rear view mirror, we’re ready to take on 2015 with a new set of lists and a few new faces! Be sure to check back during the year to see which items we have checked off (don’t worry — we will have a bucket list post each week on LiveMom, too, so if you subscribe to our emails you’ll have our reports delivered right into your inbox.) Wish us luck!
