City of Austin Summer Playground Program

The City of Austin’s Summer Playground Program is a free, supervised day camp run by the Parks and Recreation Department.  Program leaders, who have been trained in first aid and CPR, offer activities to keep children entertained.  Kids ages 6 – 12 can enjoy games, crafts, active play, and Science and nature activities.  The camp is a drop-in program, allowing kids to come and go throughout the day.

The Summer Playground Program will begin on Monday, June 11, 2012 and run through Friday, August 3, 2012. All sites will be closed Wednesday, July 4, 2012.  Pick any playground listed below and drop your child off on any weekday (excluding Wednesday, July 4, 2012). Mondays – Thursdays, the program will run from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. On Fridays, it will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your child can attend multiple playgrounds, but you must register them once at each playground. Registration will be available onsite on your child’s first day of attendance.

When you drop your child off, be sure to leave them with a morning snack, a sack lunch, an afternoon snack, a water bottle, and sunscreen.
