
La Grange is nestled along the Colorado River and features scenic drives, festivals, museums, concerts, shopping for antiques, air shows, feasts, and an annual county fair. First populated by Austin’s colonists – “The Original Three Hundred”, then followed by German immigrants in the 1840’s and Czech and Moravians in the 1850’s, the cultures of these pioneers are evident today and have been proudly passed through generations. Jersey Barnyard
Bottle feed baby cows and visit with the goats, chickens, rabbits and ducks at this family-owned dairy farm. Pack a picnic to enjoy on the grounds or bring the kids into the air conditioned store for a refreshing scoop of ice cream. Self guided tours and guided tours are both available. Play at Lake Fayette Oak Thicket Park
Located about ten minutes from La Grange and set around Lake Fayette, this 87-acre park has a playground, walking trails, a small beach, fishing piers, and lots of green space. If you feel like a longer hike, Oak Thicket’s trail connects with Park Prairie.

Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery Historic Sites
Take a self guided tour of this historic site that was once home to the Kreische family. Guided tours of the brewery ruins are available on Saturdays at 10 am from June through September. Download this guide to help you and your kids navigate the property, identify certain native plants and animals, as well as learning about the site by working with the kids on a fun scavenger hunt.

Rohan Meadery
A drive to Rohan Meadery takes you through the lush countryside of south central Texas where Blissful Folly Farm is situated. The farm is home to Rohan Wines & Meads, & Blissful Folly Hard ciders & fruit wines. This family-run farm sells meads, wines, fresh eggs, honey and more. Self-guided tours through the bee garden are available as well as guided tours of the bee hives and garden when available. There is a tasting room, a nice outdoor area with live music on select dates, and a playscape with lots of green space for the kids. Note: there are working dogs on site. They are friendly but it is advised to leave your four legged friends at home when you visit the farm.
