Event: 2ND Street Soundcheck

February Soundcheck Ad

Austin Monthly and the 2ND Street District present the fourth annual 2ND Street Soundcheck, a FREE, day-long music and street festival held throughout Austin’s 2ND Street shopping district on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1-8 p.m. The event kicks off Austin’s biggest month of music, with 12 featured bands on two main stages, including headliner Ben Kweller. Attendees will also enjoy cold beer, local food, crafts, and family-friendly activities from more than a dozen vendors in addition to special perks at 2ND Street businesses. In keeping with the commitment made by the 2ND Street District to give back through each of their events, this year 2ND Street Soundcheck benefits the Austin Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization that strengthens, connects, and empowers the local music community and Austin’s creative economy by providing innovative programs and music business education.

What parts of the event are kid-friendly, you ask? The entire family will enjoy:

  • The Time Warner Kids’ Dance Zone at the corner of Guadalupe and 2ND Street
  • Interactive golf games, set up by Topgolf
  • Activities and crafts for adults and kids of all ages, courtesy of CRAFT
  • Toys from Toy Joy on display and for sale
  • Le Photo Booth Company‘s free photo area
  • Kid-friendly eats from GoodPop and others
  • Lots of live musical performances (don’t forget ear protection for the kids!)
