Event: 4th Annual Spooktober 5k & Fall Fest, 10/17


The Friends of Austin State Supported Living Center is hosting the 4th annual Spooktober event on October 17th, a family-friendly event which includes a 5K run/walk, a Kids K, and a fall festival for everyone! Advance registration is not required to attend just the fall festival, and tickets will be sold at the event.

The 5K is a chip-timed run, and awards will be presented to the top finishers. Registration includes a t-shirt, race bib, and 5 fall festival tickets. Kids K registration includes a youth t-shirt, race bib, and finish-line medal.

The Fall Festival will feature live performances, food trucks from FryDeez, Juice Austin, & Pop Art Organic Ice Pops, prize drawings and much more!

Each registration packet will include five tickets free. Advance registration is not necessary to attend the Fall Festival. Tickets will be available to purchase at the event for $1 each and $20 wristbands will be sold for unlimited access to the fall festival activities (excluding food & drink). The music and great atmosphere is provided free of charge! Enjoy music from Austin’s own Eggjam, featuring members of The Eggmen. Don’t miss the chance to win one of several great prizes. Come out, have fun, and bring your cash to support a great cause!!

The Fall Festival will include fun games and activities, including:

  • Bounce house
  • Petting zoo provided by Tiny Tails to You
  • Bungee run
  • Arts & crafts
  • Advertisement

  • Photo booth
  • A lounge for sports fans
  • Carnival games
  • Face painting
  • Schotzi’s Cup ‘N Cake
  • Popcorn, cotton candy, and other concessions
  • Marketplace where you can purchase handmade jewelry, artwork, and other items

The Spooktober 5K + Fall Fest is a great chance for the Austin community to see the AuSSLC campus and learn about the residents who call it their home. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the 197 residents of Austin State Supported Living Center who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
