Big Medium presents the 14th East Austin Studio Tour! EAST is a free, annual, self-guided art event occurring November 14-15 & 21-22, 2015, providing the public with an opportunity to meet the makers: the local artists and artisans who leave a lasting imprint on Austin’s vibrant, dynamic culture. Tour-goers are invited to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists’ tools, techniques, and inspirations, and explore unique exhibition spaces and local businesses.

WHAT TO SEE & WHEN TO SEE IT
EAST is divided into four participant categories: Artist Studios, Exhibitions, Happenings, and Select Events. Artist Studios and Exhibitions are free to the public and open on the weekends of November 14-15 & 21-22 from 11am – 6pm. Happenings are also free, occurring on the weekends of the tour with varying hours. Select Events happen on both of the tour weekends, as well as during the weekdays/nights in between and may cost money to attend.

Artists & Studios
This is where the creativity begins. For many of these spaces, this is the only time of year that you can get a special glimpse into the inspiration, process and techniques of the artist.

Exhibitions
Exhibitions take place in spaces that are either dedicated to exhibiting art year-round or temporarily showcasing work for EAST.

Happenings
Happenings are singular events that might include installations, temporary or permanent public art, celebrations, competitions, educational programming and art-themed parties.
AdvertisementSelect Events
Select Events are arts-based projects or events, organized in collaboration with Big Medium, that benefit both parties, financially or ideologically.

CATALOG & MAP
The 2015 EAST catalog is a guide to all the participants on the tour. Each artist, studio, exhibition, and happening is featured with images and information. Also included will be the 2015 EAST fold-out map insert. These beautifully designed catalogs have become coveted collectors’ items over the years, and are invaluable references to the arts in Austin. Big Medium is proud to once again be partnering with Austin Public Library to distribute this years catalog. Catalogs are FREE and will be available to the public at all library branches on NOV 9.

Get a copy of the catalog before it is available to the public at DUE EAST, the official kick-off event for EAST, which takes place on Thursday, November 5 from 7-10pm.
