June Summer Fun Checklist Item: Donate a Fan to Family Eldercare at Fan Fare Friday

We all know it gets hot in Texas during the Summer months. A simple fan can help bring relief from the heat to seniors living without air conditioning. On June 19, 2015, Austin’s favorite music, food and on-air talent will come together for Fan Fare Friday.

Family Eldercare’s Fan Fare Friday began in 1990 as a way to bring relief from the heat to Central Texas residents. Now in its 25th year, Family Eldercare has delivered over 80,000 fans!

Join KXAN’s Jim Spencer, KGSR and BobFM on-air talent and a fantastic roster of local musicians from 7 a.m. to midnight at the iconic Threadgill’s World Headquarters in downtown Austin. Drop off fans or funds and stick around for great food, live music and fun for all ages!

Entertainment includes:

Threadgill’s Pancake Pileup (7-9 a.m.)

Donors bringing a fan or $15 donation can pile up delicious pancakes as a sweet reward for their generosity. Special thanks to Threadgill’s for sponsoring this fun new addition to Fan Fare Friday.

Children Are The Future

Kick-off a future of philanthropy by encouraging your kiddos or youth group to turn in their Fan Drive donations from 7-11:30 a.m. Enjoy the pancake pileup, face painting, a bounce house and a special performance by the Biscuit Brothers and more!

Live Music

9:30-11:30 a.m.: Big Don is opening for Mr. Will.

At 8 p.m., Lone Star State of Mind kicks off with live music by Dana Falconberry and Charlie Mars performing.

Some tried and true Fan Fare Friday favorites are back again this year. Gaming Stations

AMD is hosting state of the art PlayStation, XBOX and desktop games that kids—and adults—can play from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. (suggested donation of $15 or a fan).

Some tried-and-true Fan Fare Friday favorites are back again this year. Live music lasts all day, culminating with KGSR’s Lone Star State of Mind evening concert beginning at 8 p.m., on-site broadcasts from KXAN, KGSR and BobFM, fun giveaways, special guests and more.
