Recently, we told you about Sharing Happy Birthdays, the non-profit organization that Suzanne Gladden started with the hopes that, one day, every child in Austin would be able to have a birthday party. Happy Birthdays provides birthday parties in a box to foster and homeless children in the Austin area, so far having provided parties for over 400 in need children in 10 months at 11 different shelters and children’s homes. Volunteers for Happy Birthdays are encouraged to go on the Happy Birthdays website, select a child to sponsor, and using the detailed directions from the charity, create a birthday for the child.

Sharing Happy Birthdays is now nearing its first birthday, and to celebrate, the organization is throwing a family-friendly fundraising event, the Happy Birthdays First Birthday Bash, on Sunday, October 25th from 2-5pm at Rabb House in Round Rock. Tickets are $20 each, which includes:

  • food and beverages from local restaurants, including Jack Allen’s Kitchen, Chuy’s, Deep Eddy Vodka, Pepe Z Tequila, Red Horn Coffee and Brewery;
  • live music;
  • activities for children;

  • a silent auction, and
