Event: Little Helping Hands Big Night Out 2015, 9/26

Time to call those babysitters, because one of our favorite non-profits in town, Little Helping Hands, is having its 4th annual Big Night Out on Saturday, September 26 from 6:30-10:30pm at the Mexican American Cultural Center.

Little Helping Hands encourages family volunteering by creating and organizing monthly volunteer opportunities suitable for children as young as three years of age. Through the organization’s website, families can view a wide variety of hands-on volunteer opportunities supporting numerous nonprofits/groups and sign up for them directly, making it simple for parents and their children to experience the value and importance of community service together in a fun and positive learning environment. If you already know about Little Helping Hands, you probably also know that the organization is so popular that it can be extremely hard to snag one of the coveted volunteer slots. One way to help expand the organization’s programming is by attending Little Helping Hands’ annual fundraiser, Big Night Out.

Evening festivities will include live music by The Austin Nines, Austin-inspired cuisine from Fork & Vine, a silent auction, a live auction, and new this year ~ a wine raffle ~ with a chance to win 10, 20, 30, or 40 bottles of wine, with a total value of $1,500! If you would like to support Little Helping Hands but can’t attend the event, you can still participate in the wine raffle. The drawing for the wine bottles will take place at the event, but you need not be present to win. Purchase raffle tickets online here. You can buy one ticket for $10, or 3 tickets for $25. Raffle ticket buyers must reside in the Austin area.

The auction will include items such as:

  • a getaway in Fredricksburg at the Tres Lunas Resort
  • a luxurious stay at Travaasa with a round of golf at the UT Club
