It’s May and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for Maifest at the German Free School! This family-friendly annual event takes place on Saturday, May 14th. Maifest wouldn’t be Maifest without German food including sausage and pretzels, of course, and German beer and wine, all available for purchase. Don your best lederhosen and dirndl, dress the kids in a costume and head down to the Maypole to celebrate spring.
Additional entertainment includes:
- Marionette show (Shows at 1 & 3 pm)
- Face painting
- Raffles
- Kid’s Costume Contests & Parades
- Balloons & Games
- Maypole dances
- Polkas, accordions, and more
Children are encouraged to wear a costume & bring their favorite stuffed animal or toy. Children will meet resident house puppets, Merlin & Olga, who will interview their stuffed companion & give out prizes.
