The Texas Association of Magicians convention will be in Austin this year, and and 4 great shows will be open to the public. Vampira impersonator? Check! Cross-dressing hypnotist? Check! Hula Hoop Circus Artist? Check! The Sept. 4 and 5 evening shows will feature some of America’s most unforgettable entertainers,  including — for the first time together on stage — some of the nation’s greatest women magicians.

Friday, Sept. 4., 7 p.m., Sheraton Hotel — TAOM’s Masters of Magic
TAOM’s Friday night Masters of Magic show brings together some of the nation’s finest magical entertainers — including John Carney, winner of more awards from Hollywood Magic Castle than any person in history. Come enjoy an evening of mystifying magic and hilarious ventriloquism from a fantastic lineup of TV, film and Broadway stars.  Start time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Friday, Sept. 4, 11 p.m., Sheraton Hotel — Brian Brushwood’s Scam School Live!
Brian Brushwood brings his ridiculously entertaining Scam School to Austin Friday night. Although a Tonight Show and CNN veteran, this madman magician and fire eater may be best known for his Scam School web series.  Come to the Sheraton Friday night to get scammed by the master, live and on stage. Saturday, Sept. 5, 8 p.m., Sheraton Hotel — Women in Magic
Move over fellas — TAOM’s Saturday night extravaganza brings together magic’s top women entertainers. Featuring Magic Castle veteran Margaret Steele, New York’s Ali Shelley, hula-hoop circus artist Jesse Patterson, the humor of Britain’s Amanda Eve, Rachael Dunn and the incomparable, award-winning Jade — this one-of-a-kind event starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Saturday, Sept. 5, 11 p.m., Sheraton Hotel — Two Extra-“Ordinary” Women
Vampira impersonator Randi Rain and the incomparable cross-dressing hypnotist Tiny Bubbles team up for a fun-filled 90 minutes of weirdness. Our two Extra-Ordinary Women get going at 11 p.m. Saturday night.
