Early Period?

When did your daughter start her period? 10 seems so early but the doctor said it's becoming increasingly normal!

I don't have any kids of that age, but I started my period at 11, in 1993. I wasn't the last girl in my age group to get it, but I certainly wasn't the first.

That makes me feel better- I was such a late bloomer and none of us ever talked about it, I just happened to be the last! THANKS!

I realize I am replying MONTHS later to this thread but I wanted to chime in.
I started my period on my 10th birthday in 1990. Yes, this was a shocker to my mom but she handled it quite smoothly. Having acted more mature for my age throughout my childhood it did not seem too out of place.
My cousin who is three months younger than me and quite competative started her period at 14 years old.
She has only recently forgive me and my uterus for beating her to such monumental developmental stage.
