Get Your Kites Ready for Flying!

Kite Festival 2015Believe it or not, the 86th Annual Zilker Kite Festival is right around the corner!

Many Austin families were heartbroken that last year’s festival was rained out. We’ll cross our fingers that we can all relive those fun memories at this year’s event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 1, starting at 10am.

Throughout the month of February, the Parks and Recreation Department will host a series of FREE hands-on workshops to teach children how to make and fly their very own kites–which they can enter in the Kite Competition at the Fest in March.

All workshops start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
