The mission of Creative Action is to spark and support the academic, social and emotional development of young people.
Through interactive classroom performances, after school arts residencies and community-based programs, Creative Action’s team of professional Teaching Artists inspire youth to be creative artists, courageous allies, critical thinkers, and confident leaders in their community.
Creative Action is excited to announce arts enrichment classes in their new building beginning this month! Offered daily at the Center for Creative Action, these programs showcase their unique blend of arts education for social justice. Classes include visual art, acting, music, dance, digital media, and film for Pre-K, elementary students, teens, and senior citizens. Located in East Austin adjacent to the MLK Jr. Light Rail Station, the Center for Creative Action provides a community resource for quality creative learning opportunities.
- Pre-K programs include partnerships with New World Kids, Armstrong Community Music and Forklift Danceworks.
- Elementary students can take after school enrichment classes in acting, film, visual art, music and movement, and digital media.
- Youth have access to groups focused on theatre, visual arts, writing, and filmmaking in the Teen Programs.
- Senior citizens can enjoy programs focused on using art to increase vitality and cognitive health.
