Giveaway: The Domain’s Lighting of the Great Tree

The Domain kicks off the Holiday season on November 22, 2014 with the popular annual event, The Lighting of the Great Tree!

It’s become an Austin tradition to kick off the holiday season at The Domain’s popular family-friendly event, The Lighting of the Great Tree. Saturday, November 22, 2014 will be a day full of fun for kids and adults with FREE activities all day long to get you in the holiday spirit, culminating with the lighting of the 40-foot tree and a fireworks show. The tree, with over 6,000 twinkling lights and 400 many-colored ornaments, is sure to make your eyes sparkle!  The event is FREE and open to the public. The Domain is located at 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Austin.

Beginning at noon, revelers can enjoy:

  • Face Painting
  • Caricature drawings
  • Balloon twisting
  • Holiday crafts

Headlining the event, Sunny Sweeney will perform favorite holiday hits in addition to a few of her most popular songs before lighting the tree. Her debut album, “Heartbreakers Hall of Fame”, produced a trio of regional hits and allowed her to begin touring outside of Texas, throughout the United States and Europe. In June of 2010, the lead-off to her second album, “From a Table Away, ” became a Top 10 hit. Sweeney released her latest album “Provoked” this August.

  1. Christmas is always the best time of year right? The smell, the beautiful decorations and the cold crisp air. I would like to not choose my own family but enter in for y’all to choose my close friends family for the VIP giveaway! Their son has a very rare disease called Propionic Acidemia. He is 2 years old and just had a liver transplant in August just starting to get out of the house now. This would be awesome for them to have a special moment with their son and they deserve to have extra stuff like this because I believe the longest living person with PA was 18 years of age. Holidays are the moments you remember the most with your family and I would love for this year to be one to remember! Happy holidays!
