After launching a successful fundraising campaign, local nonprofit Little Helping Hands now has a space of its own. As Allison Johnson, the organization’s Marketing Coordinator, explained, “We have been operating out of our Executive Director’s home for over five years, so we are thrilled to have a new space!” The new Headquarters is located in northwest Austin at 8711 Burnet Road, Suite B-33.

The new facility will allow the organization to expand its mission to engage young children and their families in community service and inspire lifelong volunteerism. To learn more about volunteering with Little Helping Hands, click here. Little Helping Hands plans to use the space as a:

  • Facility for more volunteer activities
  • Hub for donation drives such as Austin Diaper Bank
  • Venue for families to work on projects together
  • Resource center for information on community involvement

The organization also plans to launch a Teen Leadership Pilot Program, so the Headquarters will serve as the program’s “home base”.

Little Helping Hands has a Housewarming Wish List posted on its website, to help stock the office with supplies for the activities it will host. In addition, several partner organizations use travel-sized toiletry items which can also be dropped off at the office.

big night in

Another way to support Little Helping Hands is by ordering a Big Night In bag. Bags are available through May 15th, although at last count they were going fast! In addition to providing funding to expand volunteer service opportunities for families, the Big Night In bags provide you with everything you need for a movie and service night this summer, including food and snacks from some of Austin’s local favorites, including Austin’s Pizza, Tiff’s Treats and Cornucopia.

Thank you to Little Helping Hands for Keeping Austin Volunteering and providing quality volunteer opportunities for our families!
