I think nearly every restaurant in Austin is hosting a special Mother’s Day Brunch. I’m exaggerating, of course, but seriously, there are a ton of Mother’s Day Brunch options to choose from. We’ve picked a few of our favorites and some that look delicious, fun, or that are offering kids eat free or cheap drinks. If you have a favorite restaurant that you don’t see here on this list, be sure to call or check their website for brunch details as we have not covered the Mother’s Day Brunch scene extensively.

The Sound of Music Mother’s Day Brunch Feast at Alamo Drafthouse (Slaughter Lane)- 11:45 a.m. How do you solve a problem like Mother’s Day? You want your mom to feel special, but all of the usual gifts just won’t cut it. Well, say so long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu to this problem, because we’ve got you covered with our Mother’s Day Brunch screening of The Sound of Music. This classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical features all of your mom’s favorite things, including gorgeous scenery, adorable children, wonderful songs and a swoon-worthy romance. Winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, The Sound of Music remains a soaring, inspiring film that everyone can enjoy, whether you’re sixteen going on seventeen or sixteen going on sixty. Plus, watching Maria (the luminous Julie Andrews) wrangle seven children will certainly give you a new appreciation for your mother. A special brunch menu and wine pairings will be offered to accompany the film.

Mamma Mia! Mother’s Day Brunch at Alamo Drafthouse (Lakeline)-  11 a.m., An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, Donna (Meryl Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends–practical and no-nonsense Rosie (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski)–from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own. On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities. Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs from “Dancing Queen” and “S.O.S.” to “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me,” MAMMA MIA! is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found. Your ticket includes this themed menu, which is served with wine pairings.
