The Austin Scottish Rite Theater is bringing back a favorite for kids of all ages this spring! Bring the family to watch A Migrant’s Tale: Pancho Rabbit meets danger at every stage of his journey to find his missing Papa, but the greatest danger of all is his untrustworthy guide. Kids and grown-ups alike will be inspired by this resonant and powerful story. Original live music by Chris Ledesma and stunning renditions of Tonatiuh’s award-winning illustrations fill the Austin Scottish Rite stage.
From the original book by Duncan Tonatiuh, adapted for the stage exclusively for Austin Scottish Rite Theater, Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote is the winner of several awards including Pura Belpré Author and Illustrator Honor, Kirkus Best Books of 2013, Best Multicultural Children’s Books 2013, Notable Children’s Books from ALSC 2014 and others.
Enjoy the historic Austin Scottish Rite Theater, built in 1871 with its newly restored comfy seats and a gorgeously restored starry ceiling! Kids get the best seats in the house—on carpets close to the action. Open seating for all. Free show parking as available. Metered street parking also nearby.
