Save the Dates: Holiday Planner 2013

holidayplanner2013

Deep breaths. Breathe. You can get through the holiday season with your sanity in check. I promise. But it will take a little planning ahead to make for smooth sailing. If you are anything like me, you’ve been eyeing the months of November and December on your calendar with a mix of excitement and weariness. This past week, I sat down and tackled it…. I laid out the next six weeks, full of holiday gatherings, events, parades, travel, school functions, and dinners! If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed with how busy life is about to become, actually listing all of the activities you plan on doing and would like to do this holiday season may help relieve some of that pre-holiday angst.

In case you are feeling tight-chested and overwhelmed this early into the season, we thought we would share some of our favorite holiday happenings around town in both Austin proper and the ‘burbs. Throughout the next several weeks, we will be spotlighting some of these events and more, but we wanted to give you a head start on your holiday planning.

Tip: Put it all down on your calendar- the things you must do, the events you would like to do, the social obligations that can be skipped or the ones that are obligatory- then highlight the ones that are must-dos in one color, the ones that you can skip in another and so on (be sure to log which colors mean what). That way, when you are glancing at the weekend ahead, it will be easy to distinguish which events to take off the list should you feel more like staying home on the couch watching Christmas movies all day long.
