Austin Public Library Kickoff- Saturday, May 30 at 1 p.m. Get the summer started off right and join in as we celebrate the start of our annual Summer Reading Program! We will begin with a performance from ELIZABETH KAHURA at 1 p.m. Ms. Kahura will take us on an African Safari which will be followed by crafts and activities. Laura’s Library Summer Kickoff- Saturday, May 30, 10 a.m., Come join us as we kick off our summer reading program, ‘Under Construction,’ with special events for all ages. This year, we challenge everyone to participate in summer reading! Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, & friends: ready, set, start reading just for fun! Pick up your reading log and begin–no minimum or maximum to read. Everyone who participates is eligible for prizes, no matter your age or reading level. Cedar Park Library- The Library’s Summer Reading Clubs run from June 8th through July 31st and are open to all ages. The programs begin on June 8th with a Scholastic Book Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Cedar Park Public Library. The book fair will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on June 8th and 9th, with special guest Clifford the Big Red Dog who will be available for visits and photographs from 10:00 am to noon during the Book Fair. Pflugerville Public Library Kickoff Event: Monday, June 8, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Percussion Things uses traditional and modern rhythms and spoken word in a fast-paced, fun and entertaining program. Audience will learn to connect ideas to action through the music in several hands-on segments of the show. Using jazz, Afro-Latin and Afro-Caribbean rhythms and instruments, the audience is guided through a high-energy exploration of drumming and percussion that is perfect for children of all age.
