It should come as no surprise that planning is well underway for the 2016 South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals.
Since 2007, organizers have relied upon the SXSW community to give its input into the event programming. The SXSW PanelPicker is a two-step online process that allows the SXSW community to have a significant voice in programming SXSWedu, SXSW Interactive, SXSW Film, SXSW Music and SXSW Eco conference activities (presentations, panels, discussions, demonstrations, etc.) Although you do have to register to vote, you can sign in with Facebook to link your account.
Although the deadline has passed for submitting proposals, now the community can browse all the ideas, leave comments and vote for what they think are the best fit for the March event. Voting will continue through Friday, September 4. While voting from the community is important, these totals are not the only factor in deciding SXSW programing. The input of the SXSW staff and Advisory Boards helps ensure that less well-known voices have as much of a chance as being selected to speak at SXSW as individuals with large online followings.
