Alamo Kids Camp – Friday, August 22 – Sunday, August 24. Click on the links above for showtimes. All Alamo Kids Camp screenings are FREE! Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the show, and seating is first come, first served. No children under the age of 3 will be admitted. Families with loud children will be asked to leave.

East End 4th Friday – Friday, August 22 from 5-9:00 p.m. The East End IBIZ District combines a mix of rich cultural history with newer locally owned businesses, leading it to become one of Austin’s most attractive destinations. Come out and support your local businesses. The entire family can wander the streets while stopping to enjoy a variety of happy hours, music, shopping, and more. Many businesses will be offering special promotions, sales, deals, discounts, and even FREE goodies for attendees. East End IBIZ District, E 11th St & Rosewood Ave, Austin.

Music in the Park (Pflugerville) – Friday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. Charles Thibodeaux & The Austin Cajun Aces band have an authentic Cajun sound—sounds of the tough life of farms and bayous, yet an upbeat and happy sound that represents the The Joy of Life – Les Joire de Vivre. You are sure to “Pass a Good Time” when you come out and enjoy their music. Food will be available for purchase beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Pfamily, pfriends, and pfurry pets welcome. Music on the Square Summer Concerts (Georgetown) – Friday, August 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This summer, enjoy live music on the Courthouse Square each Friday night. Film Screening: Eat Drink Man Woman – Friday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the award winning film by acclaimed Taiwanese Director Ang Lee, the AARC is hosting this special screening event. Back to School Hair Cuts & Free BBQ (Round Rock) – Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Round Rock Police Department – with the help of local hair stylists – will help kids get a fresh start for the upcoming school year with its first “Kutz 4 Kids” event. Stylists from across the City will volunteer their time to give FREE haircuts during the event, which coincides with an Open House at the Police Department. Residents will be able to tour the police station and get a behind the scenes look at holding cells, Crime Scene Unit, K-9 Unit, fingerprinting, and more. FREE barbeque will be provided by the Round Rock Police Officers Association. FREE! Round Rock Police Department, 2701 N. Austin Summer Musical for Children: The Wizard of Oz - Saturday, August 23 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 24 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Austin Summer Musical for Children presents the live musical theater version of the motion picture The Wizard of Oz. FREE tickets for the play are available at the door 45 minutes before showtime. The Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival – Sunday, August 24, from noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy hot sauce and live music! This event is FREE to the public with a donation of three healthy, nonperishable food items (or a $5 cash donation) to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Free parking will be available across from Plaza Saltillo, at the northwest corner of Fourth & Waller, for Hot Sauce Festival attendees. Austin Symphony Concerts in the Park – Sunday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. This is the final week to catch a free Austin Symphony concert at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center. This week, you can enjoy Big Band music (click here for the program). Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing.
