Pollyana Theatre’s Peter and the Piper- Saturday, July 19 at 2:00 and 4:00pm; Sunday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. This production is best suited for children ages 5 and up. Filled with a modern-day meets fantasy feel to this theatrical world, Peter and the Piper breathes new life into a tale many of us grew up with. The play picks up the classic Pied Piper story at the moment when the Piper realizes he is not going to be paid for ridding Hamlin of their epic rat problem. Determined to make good on every word in the contract, The Piper plans to lure away Hamlin’s children. But Peter doesn’t like the Piper’s music and is suspicious of this adult’s motives. When no one will listen to his concerns, Peter begins to worry about how his friends all think he is “lame”. When he discovers the one rat left behind from the Piper’s first visit to Hamlin, Peter discovers the plan necessary to save the day. Frozen Party On Ice – Friday, July 18 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Chaparral Ice is throwing a Frozen-themed ice skating party. Dress up in your favorite Disney costume, skate to Disney classics, and take photos with Olaf. Everyone in attendance will receive frozen yogurt giveaways from Yogurtland. There will also be special skating performances to “Let It Go” and “In Summer,” and Ice Girls Kitchen will be selling food and treats. Plus, at 8:00 the main lights will turn off and the twinkle lights will come on for a magical skating experience. The event is FREE for anyone who would like to view the skating exhibitions, meet Olaf, and participate in the costume contest. Those wanting to skate will have to pay regular admission prices ($6 ages 6+, plus $4 skate rental; or $5 ages 5 and under, including rental). The pool area will be cleared at 8:00 PM and anyone wishing to see the movie will be charged $3 at to be let back into the pool area at 8:30 PM to see it. Music Under the Star: Tish Hinojosa & Carrie Rodriguez- Friday, July 18, from 6:00- 9:00 p.m. Join us for this Austin tradition of FREE music under the bronze star! The Bullock Texas State History Museum is proud to celebrate its eleventh season of outstanding Texas music with the annual free summer concert series, Music Under the Star. Austin Symphony Concerts in the Park – Sunday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. Each Sunday, a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores.
