This week’s recipe comes from Lani, a very creative cook! Don’t be deceived… the title of this dish makes me not want to eat it, but the ingredients make it sound much better! Have a recipe that you’d like to share? Send it to me and you will be a dinnertime hero to moms all over Austin!
This is a Southern dish that originally had a much more sophisticated name but we changed it (as we do most dishes) to be more fitting of its appearance. Vomit pasta is a main dish complimented well by red wine and is sure to clog your arteries.
1 lb of Italian Sausage
1 cup heavy whipping cream
14oz. chopped tomatoes
Basil bowtie pasta
1. Boil water, add desired amount of pasta (I recommend the whole bag or box), boil 8 minutes, drain, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Keep lid on while cooking the vomit part of the recipes.
2. Brown and drain the sausage, add heavy whipping cream, non-drained tomatoes, bring to boil while stirring frequently for 3 minutes.
3. Serve sausage sauce over pasta, garnish with basil leaves sliced into slivers. Voila- you have vomit pasta!
