The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is looking for volunteers to help plant 400-plus native plants to start the Nectar Garden of the Luci and Ian Family Garden, scheduled to open in spring 2014. This first installment for the Nectar Garden will showcase more than 25 different types of natives that draw butterflies, hummingbirds and other nectar-lovers. Among these will be Maximilian sunflowers, blackfoot daisy, fall aster, Gregg’s mistflower and gulf muhly.
This event will be held 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.
