Happening all week long….

Austin Trail of Lights – Monday, December 9 – Sunday, December 22 from 7 – 10 p.m. The Trail of Lights winds through 1.25 miles of Zilker Park. For two weeks in December, over 50 custom displays light up the night, bringing Austinites together to celebrate the season. Admission is FREE. Parking in Zilker Park is $15 and must be purchased in advance online. Shuttles are available for $3 per person. View transportation options. Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Rd, Austin.

Rock ‘N Lights (Round Rock)- Sunday through Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday, Saturday from 5-10p.m. Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour is back and bigger and brighter than ever! Come and experience the second annual Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour featuring all new displays and the new Christmas Towne at the Old Settlers Association. Rock’N Lights is a drive-through light show that features thousands of sparkling lights through Old Settlers Park from Dec. 2 to Dec. 31. With 2 million lights, the 1.5-mile path is the must-see event of the season. The 2013 show features all new displays and a longer light tunnel.

  • The Three Little Pigs Puppet Show (Round Rock)- Monday, December 9 at 3:30 and 7: 30 p.m. It’s Christmas Eve…who is huffing and puffing on the Three Little Pigs’ roofs? Join the Library’s Youth Services Staff for a silly holiday version of the classic tale of the Three Little Pigs. All shows are FREE and in the Library’s Meeting Room. Puppet shows are best enjoyed by ages 2 and up, though we do offer a baby-friendly audience at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Round Rock Public Library, 216 E. Main St., Round Rock.

  • Heartsong Music Storytime- Tuesday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. Join us this morning for a mellifluous storytime with our friends from Heartsong Music. They’ll be here to lead us in a music lesson intended for little ones aged 0 to 5. Heartsong Music’s mission is to teach music techniques to children from the earliest age so as to coax children’s inherent musical ability as well as encourage their cognitive development. FREE!!   • Spanish Musical Storytime with Semillitas de Espanol- Friday, December 13, at 10:30am. Children are amazing learners, and the best way they assimilate the world around them is through play. Semillitas de Español programs teach children Spanish in a lively, engaging, and nurturing way so that their enthusiasm for learning is fostered throughout. Semillitas de Español is a family affair!  Parents are invited to participate in class and rediscover a sense of play with their children while learning fun ways to reinforce Spanish at home.
