Fantastic Contraptions (Bee Cave) Tuesday, November 5 from 4:30- 5:50 p.m. The Discovery hands on program explores all sorts of different topics, including science, literature, and much more! Join us with special guest Chris Lopez for this hands on demonstration of Fantastic Contraptions.  Participants will be able to use the Pod computers and tablets in the library or they can choose to bring their own tablets in as well.   • Lego Monthly Mini Model Build: Tractor– Tuesday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m. Visit your local LEGO Store on the first Tuesday of every month and you can learn how to build a cool mini model, and take it home – for free! Quantities are limited and offer is good while supplies last only. A new model will be available every month and will be specially themed to that month – ask a Store Associate for details!   • Music with Mar– Wednesday, November 6 from 9:15- 10:00 a.m. Music with Mar is a class where a caregiver and child (ages birth through preschool) participate together in musical activities. These classes are focused on the four main areas of development – cognitive, social, motor and language. Classes are drop-in, so no advance sign-up needed.   • Hunger Games – Thursday, November 7 at 6:15 p.m. Movies in the Park is a FREE series brought to you by the Austin Parks Foundation and presented by the Alamo Drafthouse.   • Upcycle This! – Thursday, November 7, from 7 – 8 p.m. Visit Recycled Reads, the Austin Public Library’s used bookstore, to create upcycled art using materials that might otherwise go into the landfill.   • Interactive Storytime (Round Rock)- Friday, November 8 from 9:30 -10:15 a.m. for kid 0-18 months and 10:30 -11:15 a.m. for kids ages 18 months and up.  We will read a couple books, sing songs, jam out with musical instruments, play with a parachute, AND pop bubbles!!   • Storytime Art: Dogs– Friday, November 8 from 10:45-11:45. We will have a blast reading and singing dog-themed books and songs! We’ll have a furry guest for the kids to pet, too!   • Star Party (Round Rock) – Friday, November 8, from 5:30 – 9:45 p.m. Educational and family friendly! From 5:30-8:30 p.m., there will be hands-on science activities for kids and the Discovery Dome, Austin Planetarium’s mobile planetarium shows for all ages. At 7 p.m., there will be a public talk by Dr. Jim Heath of ACC Astronomy. From 8-9:45 p.m., the observing deck will be open for guided viewing of the night sky over Round Rock. FREE and open to the public. ACC Round Rock Campus, 4400 College Park Dr, Round Rock.
