Austin Opera Presents A Masked Ball with 3-D Projection – Monday, November 10 – Saturday, November 15 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Austin Opera is debuting its 2014-15 season opening production A Masked Ball with a larger-than-life video art installation in the middle of The Long Center terrace for all of Austin to see. The installation uses the newest technology in 3-D projection mapping to create life-like art scenes wrapped around a two-story tall custom-welded steel mask sculpture positioned on the terrace. Monday

Baby Bloomers – Monday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Little ones ages 0-3 and their families will have a Super time learning about the letter S. They will explore their Senses with Slime and Soap clouds, create art with Sponges, and conduct experiments as Super Scientists. Small Wonders, a traveling puppet theater, will encourage kids young and old to get up and dance with the puppets. Cost: Members $2.50 each / Non-Members $4.50 each. Stroller Strides Preview Class – Monday, November 10 at 9:30 a.m. Fit4Mom Austin Metro presents a new Stroller Strides class at Northwest District Park. Classes will be FREE for 2 weeks every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting Monday, November 3rd. The two week free preview concludes on November 19th with a Grand Opening celebration. Eastside Art Outside – Monday, November 10 from 5-9:30 p.m. This will be a night of fun for all ages, accompanied by great music and delicious food, to show the local community the benefits of art. Veterans Day Parade – Tuesday, November 11 at 9:30 a.m. The 61st Annual Veterans Day Parade will begin at the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge at 9:30 a.m., after a flyover, and continue to the Capitol building. The Del Valle High School Band will perform at 10:30 a.m. and the Memorial Ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the south steps of the Capitol. This year’s theme will be honoring the sacrifice and service of Veterans of the Gulf Wars with a tribute to all World War II Veterans, on this 70th anniversary of D-Day. FREE! Downtown Austin.

GENaustin’s Take the Lead Rally – Tuesday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m. This year’s Girls Empowerment Network Rally, encouraging girls of all ages to “Take the Lead,” features music by SaulPaul, one of three featured speakers at GENaustin’s 7th Annual We Are Girls Conference. Film Screening: The Revisionaries – Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. In Austin, Texas, fifteen people influence what is taught to the next generation of American children. Free Mobile Food Pantry – Friday, November 14 from 3-5:00 p.m. East Austin Children’s Promise, in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, hosts one of the largest mobile food pantries in Central Texas at Southwest Key’s El Centro de Familia. All families are eligible to receive food available: no ID required and there are no income or zip code guidelines. You may also get help applying for Food Stamps upon request. FREE!
