Fire and Ice with Mad Science- Tuesday, September 3 at 4:30pm. This special event presented by Mad Science incorporates dramatic magician-style demonstrations with their scientific (but equally fascinating) explanations. Explore Music Class- Tuesday, September 3 from 9:30- 10:00am (0-12months or non-walkers) and 10:15 – 10:45am (1-4years or walkers). Designed to provide children with unique musical experiences, this class will incorporate group play and interaction, pre-K skills (sharing, following simple directions, attending-to-task, etc.) and dancing/movement to work on gross/fine motor skills.While music is highly motivating, it can also have a calming and relaxing effect. Unplugged at the Grove – Thursday, September 5 at 8pm. FREE!! Join KGSR every Thursday for 24 consecutive weeks at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road for one of Austin’s longest running free concert series. Ballet Austin Studio Spotlight – Thursday, September 5 at noon and 6 p.m. This FREE Studio Spotlight event will give guests a behind-the-scenes look at the choreography and elements of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Dancers will perform excerpts from the show while Artistic Director Stephen Mills and Associate Artistic Director Michelle Martin lead a brief lecture and Q&A. The Flying Balalaika Brothers -Thursday, September 5, from 6:30 – 9 p.m. This trio from Russia play beautiful Russian melodies on the Balalaika instruments while weaving in American bluegrass. Thus creating an original innovative music style that is truly unique and wonderful. They draw upon years of touring and their virtuoso command of the alto, tenor, and bass Balalaikas instruments. Child Safety Fair at Howdy Honda - Friday, September 6, from 3 – 7 p.m. Visit the Howdy Honda auto dealership for FREE FBI quality digital fingerprint and photographs from one of the top child safety programs in the country!  The Keeping Kids Safe Project will take a child’s fingerprints and send them home with parents. Parents can use the record to turn directly over to authorities anywhere in the world to instantly aid in an investigation.
