40th Annual Armadillo Christmas Bazaar  – Opening December 15 and running through December 24, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.  Hot music, fine art, and cold beer make the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar the place where Austin shops in the giving season. The show is actually two events in one: an art fair and music festival with a vibrant community-driven vibe. Visitors can explore an amazing array of handmade items from 160+ artists while enjoying live local music and sips from a full bar. On exhibit will be everything from statement-making collectible pieces to modestly priced stocking stuffers. While Texas artists predominate, there are a select few carefully chosen from around the country. The Armadillo stage showcases some of Austin’s favorite musical talent, with live, intimate performances at least three times a day. Featured musicians range from new and emerging stars to local legends, to Grammy winners. Admission: $8. Palmer Event Center, 900 Barton Springs Road.

Austin Trail of Lights – Through December 22, from 7-10 p.m. nightly. Visit the Austin Trail of Lights and take a spin under the Zilker Tree! Kids will enjoy an interactive kids’ area, photo opportunities, visit with Santa, delicious food and more. Zilker Tree on display nightly.  General admission is FREE from December 8-15, and only $3 for ages 12+ from December 16-22. Zilker Park, 2100 Barton Springs Road.

Whole Foods Ice Skating on the Plaza - 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Tickets are $10 and include skate rental. Whole Foods, 525 N. Lamar Blvd.

Mozart’s Light Show – 6 p.m., Gather friends and family to watch one of the best light shows in Austin. The 12-minute long celebration happens on the deck and has holiday music to get everyone into the festive spirit. FREE! Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, 3825 Lake Austin Blvd.

Round Rock’s Rock ‘N Lights  Holiday Light Tour & Christmas Towne – 6-9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, 6-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.  Experience the fourth annual event featuring all new displays and a bigger and brighter Christmas Towne at the Old Settlers Association and Dell Diamond parking lot. Rock’N Lights is a drive-through light show that features thousands of sparkling lights through Old Settlers Park. With 2 million lights, the 1.5-mile path is the must-see event of the season. The 2015 show features a longer light tunnel.  Cost: $15 per car. Old Settlers Park, 3300 Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock.

Storytime Art – Polar Express - 10:45 a.m., Storytime Art, or StArt! is a great opportunity for your young child to experience art! Storytimes are geared to the 3 – 5 year old preschooler, but some projects could easily translate into a Mommy and Me project for those a little younger. And, of course, anyone older is welcome, as well! Storytimes always include at least one book and a related art project, but often include surprises like songs, poems, and coloring pages. All aboard the Polar Express.  We’ll have a special reading of this iconic book along with hot cocoa and sleigh bells.  Our painting project is a keepsake train ornament for the tree. Wassail 2015   2:30 (kid’s show) 5:30 p.m. (evening show).  Please join us for Wassail 2015, our 13th Solstice Christmas celebration. Expect a feast of seasonal entertainment from our troupe of intrepid actors, magicians, dancers, musicians, poets and puppeteers. This year a special focus will be on the traditions of Sweden.
