We’re going to ACL, baby!

Can you believe that the Austin City Limits Music Festival has been around for eight years already? And can you believe that in all of those eight years, I haven’t made it to one show? Crazy…. I know. Wondering why on earth I’ve never gone before? It’s not that I’m not a music lover. I am. I swear. Really, I’m not a lover of outdoor concerts in the extreme heat. No…. I am not looking forward that, but I am willing to brave the Texas weather to hear some good music. LiveMom will in fact be there all three days this year (October 8-10), covering the music, the food, the activities and the general scene.

The television is almost always off at my house during the day, unless there is an urgent need for Cinderella or some other kid movie (babysitter) to keep my little one entertained. Typically, I either have my MP3 player plugged in or spend lots of time listening to KUT during the day. I found out that two of my new favorite songs are performed by bands who will be at ACL! I really like “Heart Skipped a Beat” by The XX- here, listen to this song. And another favorite is “The Only One” by The Black Keys. The Black Keys also sing “Tighten Up” which they play all the time on the radio–the video is great! And, of course, I can’t wait to see Muse! The Temper Trap is also pretty high on my list to see as well. I downloaded their entire album and am really enjoying it.Advertisement
Over the next couple of weeks, LiveMom and contributors will be figuring out who we want to interview, which bands we really want to check out and so forth. Are you going? If so, let us know. We are looking for a couple of mamas to interview. We’d also like some input from our readers on which bands to interview and what you’d like us to ask them? Leave a comment or send us an email with recommendations and questions that you would ask them if you could.
