Baby Bloomers – 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Little ones ages 0-3 and their families will explore the colors of the rainbow. They will create rainbow spin art, conduct an awesome rainbow science experiment, explore their senses with rainbow noodles, and much more. Armstrong Community Music School will join the fun with a sing-along. Cost: Members $2.50 each / Non-Members $4.50 each. All people attending, regardless of age, must purchase a ticket. Capitol Christmas Tree – 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. This is your last chance to see the 45-foot tree on the South side of the Capitol shining brightly with 137,000 LED lights. 10 choreographed light shows set to local music play at the top and bottom of every hour. FREE! 11th & Congress, Austin.

Community Cinema: A Path Appears – 7:00 p.m. Join the Austin Public Library and KLRU-TV for Community Cinema, a series screening films from the PBS series Independent Lens. Free Mobile Food Pantry – 4-6 p.m. East Austin Children’s Promise, in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, hosts one of the largest mobile food pantries in Central Texas at Southwest Key’s El Centro de Familia. ALL families are eligible to receive food available: no ID required and there are no income or zipcode guidelines. You may also get help applying for Food Stamps upon request. FREE! Faces & Places of Asia Opening Reception – 6-8 p.m. Rama Tiru has traveled around the world and she believes her journey is ever evolving. This solo exhibition beckons viewers to join in this journey, to soak in an expansive visual display of the Asian continent. Tiru hopes the features of the faraway, both soil and society, will conjure memories of home for Asian immigrants and spark an interest in the minds of young Asian Americans and others to learn about places they may have never been but may now want to go.
