Family Dollar Review and Giveaway!

Family Dollar has a new, exclusive line of clothing for infants through toddlers called Kidgets. They recently contacted us to see if we’d be interested in reviewing some of the clothing. I said yes, of course! I never turn down free stuff.

Our first shipment from them included two outfits for a girl, sizes 18 and 24 months. Since my three year old girl is wearing 5T,  I passed the outfits along to Jill, a Livemom reader, who has a two year old. Here’s what she thought about them:

“I still can’t believe these outfits are only going to be $5  &  $7–what a deal!! This outfit seems to be very well made.  Very soft cotton top with lots of nice detail.”

“This outfit is very lightweight fabric- great for a Texas summer! It did have some sticking problems on the fly of the shorts, but no one will ever see that. I probably would not have noticed it if I wasn’t reviewing it. Other than that, it’s made very well. VERY CUTE, love the details on the top! The shorts seemed big for 18 months, size wise, but did fit Kate well! Washed well in cold/warm water and there was no need to iron- just take out of the dryer and go!”

Our next shipment was for the boys! And again, my twelve year old was too big for the clothes so I passed them on to Heidi and Kelly.

Heidi says, “My son loves his $4 shoes from Family Dollar.  They are comfortable, every bit as cute as the name brand version, and have proven to be durable as well.  That’s important when they’re being worn by an active toddler boy!”
Heidi also had a pair of shorts that unfortunately fell apart in the washer (the seam unraveled) after only one wear!

There was a pair of light up shoes and a shirt combo set (t-shirt and button down shirt) that Kelly reviewed. She said, “Grady loved the spider web design even though he thought they should be Halloween shoes :). The lights were fickle. The left shoe lit up more often than the right which caused frustration for Grady but still he loved this feature. The lining of the sole came out after three wears. Still wearable but would expect that not to happen that soon. They run a bit big but were roomy enough for his chunky foot. Overall not bad for $6.”

“The shirt set fit true to size. The string under the arm in the armpit area came loose after washing but no hole was created. Thick and stretchy shirt. Seems durable. Didn’t really care for the dressy over shirt but it fit nicely and looked nice. Overall decent quality for shirt.”
