A watch made of wood? Huh. Interesting.
Those were my thoughts when I was first contacted by JORD to review one of their watches made of 100% natural wood. I was intrigued for a couple of reasons, the first being that I have had a problem finding the perfect watch for my wrist. I am a plain-dressing woman who tends to choose solids over prints, classic over trendy. I’ve worn watches ever since I can remember; even as a child, a wristwatch donned my arm at all times. But as of the past ten years or so, I’ve had a tough time finding the perfect watch that fits both my body and clothing style. One of the issues in my quest for the perfect watch is that I like big watches. Finding a large watch made for a woman is hard to find without it also coming with a lot of bling and diamonds. A solution, you may say, would be to wear a man’s watch, right? But those are too big. They look like a man’s watch, not a large watch made for a woman. I’ve tried many styles and brands over the years with no success at finding the perfect one.
The second intriguing thought I had was about the watch itself: it’s made of wood! Wood is a simple, classic product that has been used throughout the ages. Why not make watches out of wood? Brilliant. I was worried about the heft of the watch itself but was pleasantly surprised at how light it is to wear.
I was given a couple of options to choose from and ended up picking the Fieldcrest- Green.
The Fieldcrest series wood watch is designed for both men and women seeking simple elegance. Not an overly large face but certainly not small, it’s an everyday design. Choose from 2 different wood options. The Fieldcrest offers Citizen Miyota movements. Stainless steel hands and hour ticks are complimented by vivid wood grain face.
Did you read that? It’s designed for both men and women seeking simple elegance! I believe I have found the perfect fitting watch!
With it’s natural green undertone, the Fieldcrest makes a great statement whether dressed for a night out or more casually in a pair of jeans and t-shirt. I’ve been wearing mine now for about a month and couldn’t be happier with it. As a busy mama, it has held up well under all kinds of conditions: bathtime splashes, bangs on various toys, snags on shirts that are being pulled onto toddlers. The glass face is hardened and scratch-proof which is no lie as mine has not a scratch to be seen. More importantly, as a woman who likes to get dressed up (and by dressed up, I mean out of “yoga pants”), it has been a nice piece to add to my accessories as it coordinates well with almost every outfit I have.
The fine folks at JORD have offered to give a watch away a Fieldcrest- Green 100% Natural Wood Watch to one lucky LiveMom reader! a Rafflecopter giveaway
JORD provided a watch to LiveMom to review free of charge. No other compensation was received. The opinions expressed in this post are my own.
Wow. I never thought of a watch made of wood. It would be awesome to have one as a good conversation piece and they look cool.
I’d like to win, because this watch is unique – it’s the only wooden one I’ve ever seen and I love/collect watches.
What a cool looking watch! I’m a teacher and mom of three. Practical and stylish, just what I need 🙂
This watch is so unique and it seems so durable being made from wood.
Nice looking watch! Would love to own one myself! Not sure how to enter?
I spent a lot of time looking into buying a wood watch a few weeks ago and came across these guys and couldnt decide between them and WeWood who are the original wooden watch people. While I think that Jord watches are great I went with the wewood in the end as after chatting to Jord on their online chat I found out they can’t guarantee that the wood they use is reclaimed and I don’t want a tree cut down just so I can have a funky watch and also they were very sketchy about where the watches were made and kept avoiding my question. Turns out it is China which is fine but just say upfront, when I asked the other company they were honest and explained the reasons why they build there and also somewhere else. I would like a Jord watch in the future but I feel they have a lot of catching up to do.
I would love to win beacause it is such a unique watch.
My husband loves watches and one made out of wood would be super cool!

I think a wood watch would be such a great gift for my brother! He’s “young and cool”, and I think he’d love it.
